Magneto is an electronically controlled semi-active suspension system for motorbikes. It was developed by Spring Off by combining the skills gained from race experience with advanced research on the IT engineering front. This new system is based on electronically controlled magneto-rheological (MR) dampers, highly technological, innovative products that employ a combination of the control strategy devised by Gerardo Acocella (patented and implemented in its control units by the Spring Off university spin-off) and the outstanding quality and reliability of Mupo forks and shock absorbers.

Thanks to magneto-rheological fluid technology and the ability to effect real-time viscosity adjustments by applying a magnetic field, Magneto lies on the cutting edge of motorcycle suspension solutions, thus providing a system that automatically adapts its response to road surface characteristics and riding style. Benefits: automatic dampening control, improved rider comfort, better road grip, reduced and more even wear on racing tyres.

A great start to the year for our riders

As always, at this time of year we usually take a look at the early race season results of teams and riders who use Mupo shock absorbers in the various categories. Here are the main results.

A triumphant Pirro during the first week of CIV 2016
A dual victory for Michele Pirro of Team Barni, who won both Race 1 and Race 2 at Vallelunga in the first event of the 2016 CIV season (SBK category). Pirro dominated the field, taking the lead early on and holding it to win with confidence. The weekend at Vallelunga also saw Mupo rider Manuel Mazzullo from the Mazzotti team put in a good performance: he took second place in Pre Moto3 250 4T.

Andrea Sibaja dominates in the women’s Open 600
Young promise Andrea Sibaja, who races for the Box77 team and competes with Mupo suspension systems, won the first women’s Open 600 on the Jerez circuit last 15 May. She also took pole position and racked up the fastest lap of the race.

Alessandro Traversaro wins at Varano
A winning debut for the Mupo kit on the new Kawasaki 2X10 2016 ridden by Alessandro Traversaro, who took first place in the Varano Trophy.

Encouraging results in Germany
Numerous victories were scored by Mupo riders from the Zupin team during the weekend of 9-10 April in Germany.
There were five wins in the World of Motorcycle; two victories by Stefan Strohlein in the Suzuki GSX-R 750 Challenge and another two victories for Kai Uwe Lenz who rides in the Suzuki Gladius Trophy (where all 27 racers mount Mupo suspension); there was also a victory in the Endurance DLC, with outstanding performances from Danijel Peric, Tim Stadtmueller and Rene Raub (on the MV Agusta F3 800).

Mupo on the podium in Brazil
Italian Sebastiano Zerbo (on BMW) who rides for the Alex Barros Team in SuperBike Brazil achieved third place at the Interlagos circuit. Mupo rider Diego Pretel also put in an impressive performance to come fourth.

Andres Gonlazez triumphs in Argentina
Andres Gonzalez, who races with Mupo suspension, took the top place on the podium in the Argentinian Speed Championship on Sunday 6 March 2016.
