It is with a sense of optimism that we approach our industry’s most important fair: Automechanika Frankfurt, a bi-annual event to be held from 16th to 20th September (Roberto Nuti Spa will be at stand D53, Hall 6.1). This German fair is one that a long-standing company such as ours just has to take part in. It’s important from every viewpoint, not just because it is held in high esteem by industry operators from all over the world, but also because of its sheer magnitude: in 2012 it attracted over 4500 companies from 74 countries and almost 150,000 visitors.

During the fair we’ll be presenting the new Sabo catalogues and new products designed to complete existing ranges. This year we were also at the fair in Dubai, in June, while our dealers were present in Istanbul, in April. Lastly, in December we’ll be setting up our stand also at Automechanika Shanghai. In short, we’ll be doing plenty of globetrotting! The most encouraging signs, however, have – to our great pleasure – come from Italy. For the first time in several years we’re experiencing a gentle recovery of the domestic market, just as international tensions (Ukraine, North African countries) are slowing down exports. We hope, of course, that such tensions can be overcome quickly, just as we hope to see Italy enjoy a period of renewed growth, taking us out of the long tunnel of uncertainty we’ve been confined to in recent years.

There’s plenty more in the pipeline too. At the Frankfurt fair we’ll be presenting the restyled sabo.it website: designed to make use of the latest graphic design techniques, it will have a streamlined, easier-to-browse look. The content remains the same, with some new features that we look forward to telling you about in the next issue.

Over the last six months we’ve also renewed the graphics on the internet site mupo.it, making it more suitable for this Group company’s mostly young customer base. Lastly, as is the tradition (and as you’ll read inside this issue), we’ve awarded a woman driver with the Sabo Rosa prize. The cherished pink shock absorber went to Marianna Dal Degan, truck driver and model belonging to the famous “Lady Truck” group.
