Eicma 2013, the motorcycle fair held in Milan in November 2013, saw the presentation of a major new product, the racing-grade fork cartridge called K911.

This project is different from the solutions so far adopted by Mupo on account of the new 30 mm pump which replaces the standard 25 mm one, a solution that, according to Mupo technicians, ensures particularly progressive hydraulic braking, and, therefore, infinite setting possibilities to that meets all the rider’s personalisation requirements.

But the real revolution is another: that is, the possibility of varying the elastic constant of the spring (i.e. its rigidity) without actually changing it. Mupo technicians have, in fact, come up with a system that can be coupled with the spring not just at its extremities but also at intermediate sections. This means some coils can be excluded at will to obtain a spring with a higher (stiffer) constant that is adjustable on several levels.

The advantage of this solution is that it allows personalised rigidity of the spring simply by adjusting the system, not replacing the spring. That makes setting up the bike according to the track or weather conditions a lot more convenient, which is no small advantage in races where the time available for practice is always too little.

The task can be carried out in just a few minutes, if not seconds; all you need to do is open the fork cap and act on the screw beneath it.

Lastly, Mupo has announced that it will soon start producing a kit that allows this system to be adopted on its other own-brand cartridges, thus providing all past customers with a major upgrade.
