Last February a delegation from Armtek visited the Roberto Nuti Spa Group factories. “The Art of Technology Italian tour 2013” was the name of the initiative, a name which recalls a successful advertising slogan used for many of the Sabo brand products for years. It fitted to perfection as our welcome guests visited the Tuscan factories, taking  the opportunity to visit Florence, as well as the Emilia Romagna factories, taking advantage of the location to travel around the Land of Motors.

Armtek, an important client of the Roberto Nuti Spa Group, was founded in 1995 inBelarus and is also present in Russia, with around thirty operators in 22 towns. The tour began in Tuscany on 26th February. The delegation, accompanied by journalists and TV crews, arrived at the Sabo factory in Vicchio del Mugello after a lunch given by Roberto Nuti Spa at the renowned Cosimo De’ Medici restaurant. Following the visit, the group went shopping at the famous Outlet at Barberino and then they were taken to Florence where they spent a magical evening immersed in Italian culture and splendour. The following day the delegation was transferred to Emilia Romagna and the head-quarters of the Roberto Nuti Spa Group at Castel Guelfo di Bologna. Here they were welcomed by the technical management and the sales staff. Alongside Massimo and Elisabetta Nuti were Roberto Romanelli, Marino Vitali and Luigi Morra.

After visiting the offices and the factory as well as the head-quarters of Mupo nearby, Massimo Nuti presented Denis Moroz, head of Armtek, with a symbolic gift in recognition of the brotherly friendship between the two companies: a special shock absorber decorated with the national flags of the two countries. At the end of the meeting and after the Roberto Nuti Spa Group presentation, the participants drank a toast, accompanied by some of the most traditional local specialities at Locanda dell’Agnese, a restaurant that is a member of the Food and Wine Route in the Hillside of Imola.

They were now at the heart of the Land of Motors and the tour continued following the great motoring and mechanical tradition which Roberto Nuti Spa has been a part of for over half a century. In the afternoon the group in fact visited the head-quarters of Lamborghini at Sant’Agata Bolognese. The visit to such a leading example of Italian excellency was greatly appreciated and it was followed by an evening free to explore the perennially lovely centre of Modena. There was a grand finale the following day with a morning full of excitement. First the group visited Umberto Panini to see the collections of Maserati and other historic items including cars and motorcycles, followed by a cheese tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano in one of the ageing rooms. The final emotion was a trip to Maranello to visit the Ferrari museum and test-drive some of the Ferrari racing cars on the roads of Modena. Before belonging to Ferrari, the car manufacturer’s famous prancing horse symbol was actually the logo on the fuselage of the biplane flown by Francesco Baracca, an ace pilot of the World War I who came from Lugo di Romagna, a town that’s located just a few kilometres from the Roberto Nuti Spa head-quarters. The prancing horse symbol was donated as a gift to Enzo Ferrari by the mother of the heroic pilot who was shot down in action.

After a good lunch at the Montana restaurant in Maranello, a symbol of motor-racing history, the delegation from Armtek was taken to Milan for a final shopping session around the centre of Italy’s capital of fashion.

“It’s been a real pleasure for us to help with the planning of this tour,” said Roberto Romanelli, the Overseas Sales Manager at Roberto Nuti Spa, “as we have been able to show our friends and guests from Armtek not only where we work, but also our area and its tradition of mechanics, the environment within which our know-how has developed. A love of the good life and a passion for work and for mechanical technology have always characterised our region and these values are certainly reflected in the quality of our Italian made products.”
